Awesome ride

So the Council Bluffs ride was awesome. We had great weather. The bike and I got along great. It was noticibly easier pushing the new road bike around the loop than the mountain bike. The difference in the tires was huge. I was reserved in some spots on the ride, and I noticed. But I suppose that's to be expected.

I got a few pity looks as we were getting ready to ride at the band-aid on my knee covering my injury from last week. Finally people could see where it was since I was wearing shorts.

The ride started by a large tanker truck being surrounded by bikes as we followed him up the first stretch of highway until our turn. While we were waiting to get behind him, we chatted with the nice gentleman on a harley who choose to ride next to us and chat about what we were doing and how far we were going.

The new pedestrian bridge between Omaha and Council Bluffs is pretty neat. It was fun to be able to ride over it.

Lunch afterwards with friends was a nice way to end the "event". I'm excited for the pictures to get posted to the website.

Here's to another year of One Lap of the Bluffs. Once again started out wondering why I had signed up again and ended it having a great time.

Cheers!
