So my biggest concern when I have been running has always been "what if I get too hot?" Not something that I have to worry about so much. It's either too hot and I take the day off or run on the treadmill or get up at 5:00 a.m. or it's not and I just suck it up and get off my butt to the trail. I never really had any other worries about anything until Tuesday night.
It was finally not humid on one day. It was nice enough to run outside for once. Which was especially nice since it had been ridiculously hot the past couple days. I got down the trail about 2 miles and decided I didn't have that much daylight left so I should turn around and run back. And then it hit me.
I suddenly got stomach cramps very badly. I didn't know where they had come from. they went down into my gut and I was so miserable and uncomfortable. Everytime I tried to go faster than a walk it got worse. I had to try and do controlled breathing to maintain myself. And I was deciding how upset the workers at the Italian restaurant right off the trail would be if a hot, sweaty person came in off the trail and went straight to there bathroom and made a prompt exit.
