Mom would be proud

So I have been lurking and putting random posts on the Runners World website discussion groups. I like them. The people are all nice and are good at giving advise and being a swift kick in the butt when you feel like you need one. After I responded to one post, another poster sent me a private message. She saw that I also had my location as Nebraska and we spent the day sending messages back and forth chatting. It was nice. She lives in Lincoln, has a husband and step-daughter, is 30 years old, works as an engineer. She's never been an "athlete" but she loves to run and bike. Hmmm??? And she loves Nebarska football. It was getting to know someone who had lots in common with me. We even talked about maybe someday we'll meet at a race somewhere.

And I just kept thinking about how mom, the original queen of the internet women, would be so proud of me. :)

Ames,
Being proud of you has absolutely nothing to do with your internet exploration. You are a fabulous woman and BOTH your parents are so proud of you!

But it is rather fun, isn't it...these new acquaintances and friendships that you can have through the Internet.
