Breaking in the new shoes

They finally came in the mail. And they're pretty.

I wore them to work on Saturday to see how they felt and I they were going to rub really bad anywhere. They didn't at all. I was happy all day.

I decided to go run yesterday morning before it got too hot. And to give the new shoes a test drive. It was awesome.

I just went down the trail. I could feel myself getting hot because it was warm and muggy. It was one of those times where it just felt really good to sweat. There were lots of people out running and biking on the trail.

There was one woman who came onto the trail a little ways in front of me. I thought the looked so much more the part of a runner than I did. Sports bra, matching shorts, sports watch, fancy shoes. I was a little jealous. And then after a little ways I realized that I was going to pass her. I smiled and waved as I went by, which she returned. I was pretty proud of myself.

Then it started raining. It felt so good. Just hard enough to make sure that I was wet when I was done but not enough to ruin it. There were a few puddles that I splashed in on my way back up the trail. I little bit of dirt and mud in a couple places. It was great. One of those days when all of the planets must have been all aligned.

And my new shoes have been properly inaugurated.
